Statement on Jeremy Corbyn

Kenny Donaldson, Spokesman for Innocent Victims United stated: “Jeremy Corbyn continues to treat the innocent victims and survivors of PIRA terrorism with contempt. He is the only politician that our organisation has requested to meet with (on four occasions now) who refuses to even acknowledge correspondence”.
“It is not a credible position for Jeremy Corbyn to condemn all violence in the context of ‘The Northern Ireland Troubles’ but refuse to condemn the terrorist organisation who inflicted more death than all other organisations put together. Terrorists are not self employed, they are employed by terrorist organisations, they follow a warped constitution and rule book and they are commanded to carry our acts of terror by the godfathers of those organisations – people who Jeremy Corbyn felt it acceptable to dine and socialise with as well as seek to give political legitimacy to over the years of the terrorist campaign”.

“Jeremy Corbyn needs these points put directly to him instead of the easily batted away questions he has received heretofore. Were he to have the courage of his convictions to meet directly with victims of PIRA terrorism (which is what we have repeatedly requested via IVU) then he would have to face these questions and others from those whose lives were directly ravaged through terrorism”.
Mr Donaldson added: “Within the Labour Party are many honourable representatives who know and understand what terrorism is – Kate Hoey, Dan Jarvis, Andy Burnham and there are many others. But it is a source of huge concern that the leader of their Party (who seeks to be our Nation’s Prime Minister) is an apologist for terrorism”.

“Sinn Fein/PIRA don’t actually need to take their seats in Parliament because in Jeremy Corbyn, John McDonnell and others they already have quasi representatives. The British public must scrutinise their would be leaders and also remember their fellow citizens whose lives were stolen or destroyed as a result of the violent terrorist insurrection carried out by Jeremy Corbyn’s allies in Sinn Fein/PIRA – think about the innocents of Birmingham, Hyde Park, Harrods, M62 Coach Bombing, Deal Barracks, Kent and so many others. Jeremy Corbyn in many ways is as dangerous an ideologue as Gerry Adams and people need to waken up, who should no better,” concluded Mr Donaldson.
